How to orientate your Hexanode Device
π§ Device Orientation
The SiteHive Hexanode Device's internal compass determines its orientation, which, in turn, affects the measurement of directional sound and camera activation.
To maintain accurate direction of arrival in your media, it's crucial to ensure the correct orientation is maintained.
- After you have selected your device you will be prompted to set up your device orientation - this is important for your Direction of Arrival.
- You can either click and drag the dial or enter the degrees if you know it.
- If your device has already taken images - you can use them to help set your orientation.
- When you are deploying your Hexanode Device on site you can get the orientation of your device by using a compass on your phone.
- To get the correct orientation, place the base of your phone on the SiteHive logo
How to update device orientation
You can change your device orientation or can add in your device orientation if you set up your monitoring point before knowing the device's orientation.
- Click the 'Edit Monitoring Points' button
- When you click 'Edit Monitoring Points' the edit monitoring point window will pop up
- Click the 'Edit Assignment' button next to the device that needs the orientation set up
To set the orientation you can:
- Click and drag the dial to change orientation
- Type the orientation in the text box
- Use the device images by clicking the drop down arrow, if the device has captured media
